Once upon a time a determined young man named Hal Porter embarked on a journey that would change his life forever. He started out managing a restaurant during his college years in Arizona, and decided to make the food service industry a career. With his unique ability in working with people and his flair for creating tasty cuisine, he had people coming from all over the world to eat in his establishment (Las Margaritas) in Arizona.
In 1997 Hal decided to move his family to Utah to be closer to extended family and thought about hanging up his chef hat. That thought however did not stick, and his friends and family (who missed his great food), encouraged him to start a new restaurant. Because of too much time spent away from family, he decided to close his doors and pursue other interests.
With the food industry still deep in his blood, he was approached to cater a reception event--- the result, the birth of Landmark Catering. With a newfound excitement, he and his wife Elaine (who graduated with a BA in Interior Design) began creating a company that has provided food and flair for the last 9 years in Utah.
